An hours drive from Auckland city, Whatipu is located on the nothern side of the Manukau Harbour entrance.

APS members enjoyed a weekend capturing this unique landform created by the powerful combination of wave and tidal energy.  It was at this location that HMS Orpheus met her doom in 1863.
